Sterling Ranch

This Sterling Ranch, Colorado backyard proves that low-maintenance xeriscaping doesn't have to look like a typical gravel yard. Working closely with the homeowner's vision, we layered varying rock sizes and tones to create depth and visual interest across the space, moving well beyond a standard single-rock xeriscape design. Since the client had always dreamed of a private zen garden, we brought that vision to life with a custom yin-yang inlay, adding a personal, meditative focal point to the landscape. Natural flagstone stepping paths tie the different zones of the yard together, echoing Colorado's native terrain, while a 24x24 paver patio creates a defined, low-maintenance seating area for outdoor relaxation. Drought-tolerant plantings in mulched beds round out the design, softening the hardscape and adding seasonal color with minimal upkeep.
